England Beach Sprint Team: Home International Rowing Beach Sprints

The England Beach Sprint Team is an opportunity for rowers to trial either in crews or small boats to earn the chance to represent England with their coach, fellow club members or just by themselves.

Representing England is a unique development opportunity for both rowers and coaches wishing to gain international experience. For some, it could be the first step to representing Great Britain.

England Rowing has seen many Olympic and Paralympic rowers receive their first international representation. If the Beach Sprints format becomes part of the Olympics from 2028 onwards we hope to see this tradition continue with the Beach sprint team.

Team Selection

Selection for the England Beach Sprint Team for the Home International Rowing Beach Sprints 2022 will take place as part of the British Rowing Beach Sprint Championships, on Sunday, 26th June.

We welcome and encourage entries from anyone who meets the eligibility requirements to represent England. 

Training Day

Prior to the Home International Regatta, we host a training day, held at TBC on TBC. This is an opportunity to bring together rowers and coaches from across the country to support the development of the team. We encourage all selected rowers and coaches to attend where possible.

The Home International Rowing Beach Sprints

The Home International Rowing Beach Sprints is a new event with the four “Home Nations” of England, Scotland, Wales & Ireland competing. The event is building off the rich history of its sister event the Home International Rowing Regatta, which has seen many Olympians racing for their first international representation. We hope the Home International Rowing Beach Sprints will create a clear pathway onto Great Britain and Ireland national teams in the decades to come.

The 2022 Home International Rowing Beach Sprint will take place on Saturday, 20th August in St Andrews, Scotland and will be hosted by Scotland.
